Prof. Dr. Ümit Koç was born in 1975 in Augsburg, Germany. He began his education in Augsburg and continued at Mersin Gazipaşa Primary School in Turkey. He completed his secondary and high school education at Mersin Tevfik Sırrı Gür High School.
Between 1993 and 1999, he attended Çukurova Faculty of Medicine, where he earned his medical degree. After completing his compulsory service at Mardin Midyat Health Center No. 3, he pursued specialization in general surgery.
